#### 1. Refresh the addin

There are several ways to refresh and reload Cryptosheets from inside the add-in, Excel or Googlesheets.

**Go to the Ribbon (Excel)**

> - Insert > my add-ins > refresh > select Cryptosheets > **press add**

> **| TIP |** > _Make a shortcut to the add-in section in your Quick Access toolbar by **right clicking on the 'my add-ins'** section and selecting **Add to Quick Access Toolbar**_

**From inside the side panel**

- In the very upper right hand corner there is a small left facing arrow tab > click that > click

**From inside the side panel**

- Click anywhere (except a search box) then press **`F5`** or for laptops, Macs and others you may need to press **`fn + F5`**
- --> the entire side panel should hard refresh

#### 2. Logout & Log back in

From the side panel of the add-in:

#### 3. Update Microsoft Office & Excel

- Check your current **version**
- Check your current **license**
- Check your current **regular, insider, insider fast status**
- Check the **latest updates** from **[Microsoft](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/develop/office-versions-and-requirement-sets#how-to-check-your-office-version)** (or Google)
- **Install all the updates**, check it again
- Close Excel by using the Task Manager to **"END"** the process
- **Restart** your machine

#### 4. Clear your credentials manually through WEF storage

\*Note: this is a more involved step and may impact other add-ins you have installed or are using. Please consult the Cryptosheets team before you pursue this option unless you have done it before or are comfortable with the process

**Follow these instructions for manually clearing your local cache when you are:**

- having trouble with custom functions message saying you're not logged in
- beta testing
- using side loaded manifests
- For Mac users follow the steps below

_\*Entire process should take you less than 60 seconds_

**Quick Steps (for Windows users)**

1. Save your work
2. Using **Task Manager** > Quite Excel by using the **'end process'** option
3. Find the following folder by pasting this link into your Windows Explorer
4. `C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef`
5. Select the **WEF** folder in your explorer
6. Hold the **shift key** then **press delete** (using the delete key)
7. Re-Open Excel
8. Load Cryptosheets from the Ribbon to open the side panel
9. Make sure you're logged in
10. Try the same function(s) again

**Quick Steps (for Mac users)**

1. Follow **[these steps](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/testing/troubleshoot-manifest#clear-the-office-cache)**
2. You can also clear the cache manually by deleting the contents of the `~/Library/Containers/com.Microsoft.OsfWebHost/Data/` folder.
3. If that folder doesn't exist on your mac, check for the following folders and if found, delete the contents of the folder:

 - `~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.{host}/Data/Library/Caches/` where {host} is the Office host (e.g., Excel)
 - `com.microsoft.Office365ServiceV2/Data/Caches/com.microsoft.Office365ServiceV2/`
